Slate tile finishing
Hey there,
Just found this site.
I'm a newbee here but, have been doing construction/renovations for 20 yrs.
I'm currently doing a bathroom tile job for a customer. She purchased these 4x4 slate tiles at home depot. They are very irregular in dimentions and thicknesses but that is not my question.
I found the only way to cut these things was with a wet-saw, and they cut like butter. When the tile was wet, it brought out colors that you would'nt see if it were dry. She and I both wonder if there is a product that will give it that " wet look " and bring out the true color of the tile after intallation.
Anyone delt with this stuff ?
Thanks, Steve

After grouting, wait 3 days, clean, and use a quality gloss sealer.
And why is this posted in picture post?

stone sealer
Lowes carries a product called "Wet Look stone sealer" that will give you that glossy shine also I did a 2 floors inthese tiles and found that if you seal before you grout you can save yourself some elbow grease trying to get all the grout of those surface irregularities

I found that the tileLab stuff is crap...you need to get the "Miracle Color Enhancing Sealer" it's in blue jug , makes them look wet and nice...but it is pricey...159.00 a gallon...about as bad as our Mid-west gas prices.
