Our First Tile Floor

Well have been criticized on here about wanting to learn to do tile floors and that I should just hire in. Well we just went for it and done it ourselves. Just like everyone says thinset, hardi, screws, thinset, tiles, grout. the thing that didnt help was it was around a corner shower with an odball radius but I think it turned out well what do yall think>?
sorry guys about poor picture quality had to optimize them to almost nothing in size!!!

very nice cut around shower basin
seems like you stole my method of dry laying the tiles, sitting the basin on top and tracing a line.

good layout. No itty bitty pieces, and centered at doorway.

it will look nice at door way with jambs set on top of tile
no ugly cut, or lack of undercut.

Looks good.

Can I ask, why would someone criticize you for doing tile work?
We don't do doors and windows or plumbing, but we've done quite a number of bath remodels where we did the work in those areas.

Now if you were mudding a shower pan, then I'd suggest subbing the work out.

But just laying a floor, my wife could do it on a weekend.

Nice work. Why would you take a picture of the soda bottle, the scratch potential screws & other trash sitting in brand new the shower base. That is the customer's shower not your trash can or work bench!!!
Sorry about getting pissy but that's the stuff that separates the amateurs from the professionals.
Again ...nice tile work

hey well once we set them we realized all the stuff was in the tub lol. well we actually just measured to the edge of pan and drew our radius on each tile cause we couldnt get the pan back out cause i fastened it to the walls. cut all the radius tiles with a rotozip xwheel turned out nice just a little slow. thanks for all the positive feedback!!!

Some people on the board have the mindset that if it's not your trade then you shouldn't be doing it and have to hire someone who does it.

BTW, looks very nice to me Turnkey.

Looks good! In the first picture what is the thinset around the radius of the base?

And a suggestion: Try taping the seams as you tile, you may be converted to that method as you don't have to deal with any kind of hump at all.
