Latest Tile Backsplash

Here's the latest tile backsplash we did.
Nothing fancy, just that we had to cut 6" tile out of 12", and if that wasn't enough cuts, a clip design pattern.

The tile is honed marble, which I've never seen nothing like.
I usually hate marble. But this had no veins. Nice stuff.

I asked if the homeowner wanted fix prior to we starting work.

They wanted a dark tile to compliment the countertop (Baltic Brown).
And they wanted to tie in the cabinetry with lighter grout.

Tile backsplashes

backsplashes are my favorite
we've been doing a lot lately
been advertising for them more
kind of a niche market

plus we can schedule 4 or 5 a week

rather than work on one bath project

Maybe we should make this a tile backsplash post for all ya'lls pics.
No one posts pics of their work anymore.
It's cool to see others work and it motivates you sometimes

Here's another backsplash we got started today.
It's 3/4" glass mosaic:

Nice lookin work Matt I'm getting pretty fond of splashes myself. Seems like I can get more design freedom from customers on a splash than anything else. I have one coming up that the ho just told me to "make it look good, we trust you". 80sf splash and I gave it 3 days on my schedule

I'd design it on paper or sketchup and show them before I mixed any thinset.
What looks good to you may be percieved in another way by the people that own the home and have to look at it everyday.

80 sf is a GYNORMOUS backsplash

It is a shame to have to put outlets and switches into such nice looking backsplashes. Have any of you tried a way to eliminate the outlets?

I did a subway tile on a backsplash a while ago, and the HO had an electrician relocate to under cabinet mounted outlet strips. The tile looked much better, but the strip looked a little unusual.
