The Breakers - Newport, RI

Here's some shots of architectural splendor
of "The Breakers" in Newport, RI

I was there man.
And your not supposed to have cams in there either.

The house was owned by the Vanderbilts

Some awesome Italian tile setters did the work in under 12 months
They didn't have mesh mounts then either

I see that in some upscale homes here. They fly the crews in from Italy. They are true mosaics, one tile set at a time.

I wonder if the Vanderbilts asked if they could save some money if they picked up the tile from Home Depot?

Thanks Matt, I love looking at stuff like that. Can't wait to go to Italy and see some of this stuff in person.

The Vanderbilts own the Biltmore down here in Asheville, NC

haven't seen that yet.
It's like a 2 and a half hour drive from us in Charlotte

the misses doesn't know it yet, but the upstairs office is going to have the carpet pulled, wonderboard laid, and small 3/8" polished marble in a circular pattern field with a celtic knotwork border.

Something to keep busy with in winter.
