Shane,
You do nice work man! When you powerwash any deck (stripped or not) Do you use a lot of pressure, little pressure to get the results you want and not damage the wood? Do you specialize only in wood restoration? Is there a specific stain you use/like?

Huge improvement Your customers must love the change, it's like getting a new deck. BTW.. you're not a big Behr fan, are you

Thanks Gary!
There are times Gary i don't use a p/washer at all it's just the chems and maby a stiff deck scrub brush. It depends on the deck condition of course.I very seldom p/wash a new deck of course 3-6 months old.The new ACQ wood sucks and it needs to weather for 1yr if possible. If anything 6 mths then stain the re stained after 1yr then every 2yrs.
I do only specialize in wood resto and have been for the last 10 yrs.
I have been using Baker's Gray Away exclusively and i'm also a distibutor for the Houston Area. It's a great paraffinic oil base stain tested by the Texas Forest Service.

It's a Brazillian Rosewood oil that doesn't like humid Houston. I've heard lots of mildew problems from customers.I had a customer swith to the Gray Away from Penofin and said it was night day better than the Penofin.

I have been using Sikkens SRD or the Penofin red line up here in Chicago. Just wondering what you thought of them. I have a 1x4 T&G Fir floor in a semi enclosed sun porch and Pressure pro suggested TWP or Baker's.
I do not do a lot of decks so I haven't kept up on products out there. (a lot of people in this area pay for there decks to be done by the cheap fly by night guys. they do realize what it takes to do a deck right!)

The non drying oils like the TWP and the Gray Away are probally best out in the sun. They may take forever to dry in the enclosed porch.
Wood Tux may be a good choice for that enclosed porch.P/Pro has used WT for a while now and has had great results.

Hey Shane does Baker have a website? I tried doing a google search and all I came up with was restore-a-deck.com, which, if I'm not mistaken is Pressure Pros website, and your forum posts here and on some of the other PW forums.

Hey Shane - even though I have seen those pics on the other boards still have to give you a thumbs up. BTW - when you apply stripper, are you comfortable letting it sit - or do you pick up a deck scrubber and work it in? I somehow am still drawn towards agitation - but don't know if my extra effort is just waisted. And do you keep wet with straight water - or just reapplication of your stripper at certain intervals?
