Deck Brite from Sherwin Williams to remove residual stain. Rinse. Then 3/4 h2o and 1/4 bleech. Rinse again. Agitate both solutions with a bristle brush, apply solutions with a Hudson sprayer, no need to destroy it with a 3k psi pressure washer....

An old post, but maybe this will help. We use Jomax, made by Zinsser. You mix it with bleach, but are using less bleach since the Jomax helps with the cleaning. It does a great job cleaning, especially at removing mildew. It typically wont damage painted surfaces, nor will it discolor them. However always test an area first.
This is for painted surfaces. For unpainted cedar we typically use the wood brighteners designed for this, made up of oxalic acid.

Yes. It is Ammonia that you want to keep from Bleach! That and NaOH (Lye).
