Do you happen to know the correct OSHA approved tire pressure for that setup?

Good Luck

four 2X4 roof brackets/jacks. A pair on each side of the projection near the gutter for the bottom rung of both ladders, Split the extension ladder in half. Put one half into the brackets on either side. Put a canvas tarp under the ladders for roof protection. if you need to get on top of the sun room for the clestory put ladder brackets on both and a 16 foor decorators plank across.

funny that this long dead thread is resurrected. Ive come across a similar job im trying to figure out how to scaffold. I have to strip off the decomposing pine beveled siding and replace with four inch vinyl.

My dad used to set these up with ridge hooks for his extension ladder sections. They seemed like the cats meow, but I've been told they are not legal. I haven't seen a safer sounding option posted thus far.

These look perfectly legal to me.

Re: Advice On Awkward Job Set-up

putting the ladder on the roof is the easy part. don't even need a ridge hook. as I always use a pair of heavy 2X4 roof brackets screwed to the roof to support the ladder by the bottom rung. The problem lies in reaching the top 11 foot corner of the cupola and the top of the gable dormer which is six feet away from the lower gutter/facia

Another interesting complication is at the front of the building. See that gap in the crown of the tree to the upper left hand corner which is just outside the left frame of the image? That's clearance cut out of the tree for the high voltage power lines

Re: Advice On Awkward Job Set-up

Quick question on ladder rolling roof hooks.....which way should the foot be? "L" 90 on the roof or the end of the "L" (opposite the 90 bend)?

FWIW I prefer the hooks if a 40' will work, if not then I'll do the roof bracket base for the ladder and I strap it down to the 2x with plumber's strap. Fell off a ladder once (feet kicked out on a deck and we slid down the wall, had I fallen to the left it would have been 15' to the ground....so I tend to be over cautious now.

I would suggest scaffolding if you are going to be replacing boards, sanding, staining etc. That way you have a platform to work off of too... Very nice.
