Trailer park boy strikes again
Not really a show stopper but the Mrs HO of this mobile is going to be coming home in a wheelchair so the sunken living room floor just would not work for her.
The little landing by the front door was super squeaky so I cut it out too.
2x4 sleepers ripped to 3" and glued and screwed to subfloor
Plywood glued and screwed to sleepers, ready for carpet. I used G1S in case anyone ever wants to put something different in there.
Starting the roof on monday

She will be utterly shocked, her husband had this done in stealth mode before she comes home.

They are getting new carpet through most of the trailer, they wanted something non slippery so laminate or wood was out.

i commend your bravery working on a trailer, i tried a few jobs in the past when i first got up and running and since then made a policy, NO TRAILER WORK even if it pays me a million dollars
That should work out very nicely for her

You just have to expect the most f****d up things imaginable and be prepared for ten million and one staples in every thing you take apart, if not staples, 5 inch screws.
Trailers are the hardest things ever to demo, beat and pound and smash the things to smithereens and it's still all hooked together.

Todays installation of Trailer Park Boy
Started the roof today, went pretty well, the old shingles tore up like fruit leather, easiest tear off I have ever seen I think. The one half we did was torn off, staples pulled and swept in just over an hour.
This is going bye bye tomorrow
Another one with no paper under the shingles, just a strip of plastic at the eave
Ice and Water, 30lb felt
Today at 4, left with my first sunburn of the year.

Are those real 2 x 4 rafters I saw in the ridge vent opening? I was told that trailers use 2 x 2's which I found hard to believe, that's why it always stuck in my head.

Yes 2x4 rafters, only the really old trailers used 2x2 for anything. The new ones have 2x6 exterior walls and 2x4 trusses.
