Sunroom Remodel And Repair
Sunroom was in pretty rough shape, leaking like a sieve and rotting inside and out. The cedar siding was laid tight against a vapor barrier.
![]() Some pictures after we opened it up and replaced the fogged glazing on the left: ![]() ![]() Here is a finished shot of the exterior:

Re: Sunroom Remodel And Repair
I just realized the picture was taken before we tiled the step...it looks like crap
I'll have to stop and take another pic next time I'm in the area.

Re: Sunroom Remodel And Repair
Do you have any photos of the "guts" before you re boarded it? Like to see what you left inside there, if anything.
Stachybotrys chartarum is nasty stuff. By the way.....Looks tight and sa-weet.

Re: Sunroom Remodel And Repair
No, I didn't take any pictures that show it reframed or sheathed. We replaced several of the studs and that section of end joist as well as a new rim board. Resheathed it w/ OSB and wrapped it in Tyvek, then ran lath to hold the cedar out and screened it at the bottom. From the inside ripped the drywall and insulation out and foamed all the penetrations and around the edges of all the stud bays before replacing the bats with R13(instead of the moldy R11). New drywall and paint and re-enameled the rusty baseboard heaters.

Looks good to me.
Is all that trim wrapped in aluminum?

Re: Sunroom Remodel And Repair
looks great, they should get another few years out of it, what is the detail at the bottom of the window where the glass meets the sill, what is the primary flashing detail? is it just caulking?
