Did you seal the ass rock with anything?

Yes, so kind of a story in itself. We looked at some of the more industrial strength products as opposed to Aqua Mix etc...

The back story is that this rock was actually a part of the original Rockville Bridge in Marysville, Pa which was torn down around 1905. The stone yard owner recovered this from an outdoor fountain where it sat for decades in water. It was actually already nice and smooth and seemed to be well sealed naturally.

My customers were kind of nervous with the stronger products that it would leave a caked finish or affect the rock... so I used the Enrich & Seal and then the Sealers Choice on it (which is what I used on the pebbles and pavers). I first tested it on a back side.

I used almost 2 gallons on of sealer on the job... keeping in mind that the pebble was not already honed. Those were direct from the yard in buckets. So between the pebble and the #a$$rockUSA... they drank up some sealer. I'd say about 6 or 7 spray coats went on the big rock.

Overall the Aqua mix products left a nice sheen on everything which doesn't come through in all the photos.

Very cool! That's definitely one for the front page of the portfolio.

What system(s?) do you use for waterproofing? I would've been paranoid I was going to puncture it setting that boulder

The whole shower was waterproofed with hydroban. I was a little concerned about a puncture too, so I did install some sheet membranes in the area where the rock was going and the area where the cart was sitting when we put it in
