My Fav Job Of 2017

Earlier this year I had a job going that from the start was going to be pretty cut and dry. We signed a contract and the customer was looking for a custom cabinet company so by the time I got there to start... everything that was basic derailed into some gnarly selections and turned out to be probably my favorite job overall. Here's some before pictures.

Re: My Fav Job Of 2017

My customer originally wanted a pebble floor... but since the shower floor was so large I recommended a fee things aside from the linear drain they wanted. So after deciding on adding pavers, pebbles up the walls and a 1,000lb boulder for a shower seat it was Game On!

Since we added the heavy boulder... tins and I opened up the floor to add joists and also a jack post down in the crawl space

Saw the title and the first thing I saw was this...

Was try to figure out a way to be diplomatic and then decided I was going to he nice and not post, but then the real pics came...

Looks unique and well crafted...

Just curious, what was the genesis of the idea for the shower?

Thanks! yeah, they left me an awesome review on houzz after the job. The owner of the cabinet company was bringing his wife over to scope my handy work. I think she likes me more than her hubby now

It doesn't look like it from the photos but there is enough space around the side and back to be able to fit scrub brushes, hands etc... remember, I did have to set pebble and grout back there. It wasn't easy but doing the actual cleaning back there won't be so bad for them.

When the owner of the cabinet company takes time to show off your work to his wife of his product, you know you're operating on a different level...

Just curious, what was the genesis of the idea for the shower?

c'mon now! I mean if someone wants that 70's ****o tub look... I can do that too

On the shower.. they knew they wanted a linear drain with an open style. They also decided on pebble floor but that large of a footprint with all pebbles, imo, would not look right so I suggested the pavers and growing pebbles up into the walls to give it some dimension and life.

So then I showed them a picture of something similar but in the picture, at first, I didn't even notice there was a boulder in it. Then she was like "I want a boulder too..." and then I was like, "I can do that..." and then she was like, "I'm serious..." and then I was like, "ruh-roh... here we go".

They have a pretty good sense of humor too. I think at first they were on the fence about the boulder but I found that one at a local stone yard. If you look close at the top, you can see an almost perfect mold in it that will fit your rear end. They keyed in on that, we made a ton of jokes about it and that's what they wanted.

Tech Dawg... designer/purveyor of the unique "butt boulder" shower seat...

Yeah, I can see how that would generate some jokes...

Nice...
