Thanks.....the job is pretty much done aside from a few things needed to be completed once the hardwood floor is finished.

95% finished

Just waiting for the lyptus flooring to be sanded and finished, then we can finish the toe moulding, baseboard and throw the fridge in. We just passed final with a compliment from the inspector and a few business cards for him.

Awesome work...with all the details, outlet cover plates to match the tile/wood cab's-dimmer switches-cab crown mouldings-air button for the garbage disposal just to name a few (looked at your creation a bit to long huh)?

One other thing just pops into my head, Did she bake you a cake for a extra bonus?

question- do you usually set bases first then do the floors? We never really done wood/laminate kitchen, all is tile, even then, we always tile first.

Do you do the samething for a tile finish?

Great observations

No cake....but I think I gained a few extra pounds from all of the cookies and root beer she gave me throughout the project!

They where great clients to do work for which 90% of the time is the case with all of my clients.....maybe Im just lucky.

I always set the bases first unless the homeowner requests to have the floor layed first. It just works better with our schedule to set bases first.

For tile we always set the bases first with NO exceptions.

You set cabinets first then do flooring? How do you install the dishwasher and fridge in that situation? Why do you do it in that order?

Nice looking work AW.

I'm curious about the cabinet over the end of the penninsula--seems a little small with all of that tile hanging out on both sides, and shorter than the rest in the kitchen.

That was not by my choice....in fact, I'd say that's the ONLY thing I feel should've been different about the kitchen was that upper cabinet.

That was derived from an idea that the homeowners and my cabinet designer agreed upon. Personally I think the wall cabinet should have been as wide as the peninsula.

Figured as much.

I hate those little things you have no control over....Sometimes you can save a HO from themselves and sometimes you can't.
