Its gonna be a nice one when finished.

This is going to be a nice one when finished. Its not the biggest or most detailed kitchen we have ever done, but none the less with the all of the color schemes, tile, Lyptus hardwood flooring, and granite and many many can lights the remodel will be very nice once completed.

Progress pics (Before)

Let the dust fly.

All cleaned up and fluorescant cans/halogen cans installed

Had to add an outlet in a pocket door frame.

Insulated/inspected and ready for sheetrock

More to come this week

Jeepers! I got scared when I saw that first pic I thought you were finishing that!

You'll have that rocked in no time now. Whats your lead time like on cabinets? Are you using Custom or Stock cabinets?

The rock is finished and everything is painted.......cabinets go in tommorow.....I just forgot to snap some pics on Friday.

Lead time on custom cabinets vary per manufacturer. These particular cabinets are Wood Mode frameless cabinets, and take roughly 9-10 weeks from ordering to delivery to site. Lead time lately has increased 15% for custom cabinets.

The cabinets are on site right now awaiting installation.

uh oh, might have a problem there. I think I see one joist bay over on the right that doesn't have any can lights in it. Looks like a good one, can't wait to see it trimmed out.

You gotta love how a one cieling fixture and some undercabinet lights in a kitchen get replaced with 10-15 recessed and pendants and eyeballs.

Then the customers ask why their electric bill went up " we got energy efficient bulbs"

Why did they fail you on the switch in the pocket door......my assumption would be too many wires in a shallow box.

We space the box out a 1/2" so it doesnt interfere with the pocket door operation (hence the plywood in the pic) then my drywaller just sheetrocks up to the blocking and tapes/textures over the plywood. We made the pocket door receptacle the end run of the gfci so there is only one wire.

"That's what I'm talkin' about clean and sanitary work nice display of true to their trade professionalism AW Really like how the whole kitchen is laid out it just seems to flow together.

On a side note, is that a plug in speaker connection in the wall cabinet with the two speakers on top of the cab?

Thanks Jerry!

The connections for the speaker wires are in the wall .....the wires hanging down are the undercabinet lighting wires.

Next week crown moulding, appliances and hardwood floors go in.

We did the same thing and planned to finish it the way you did, I just think the inspector was being a prick, as the home owner was the gc on a 7200 square foot addition may of had somthing to do with that decision, as well as the other bs we had to deal with, when your putting in 1000 amp service into a house things start getting jacked out from the git go.

Nice work, AW. I assume the cabinets will get light rail in addition to the crown?
