Here's a little kitchen we did last year

I was going through some old photos, came across these and thought I'd share.

This was a DIY kitchen project gone horribly wrong, homeowner watched to many home improvement shows and thought they could just whip out a kitchen remodel in a couple weekends. They started demo and realized they were in way over their heads, so the kitchen sat in this condition for almost 5 years before we got involved.

The homeowners mess:

After we finished demo, rough finished and inspected ready to cover

Tile back splash going in

Ah, the joys of hiring a professional! I wish they had more home owner horror stories on HGTV. That's like free advertising for us!
Great job!

It looks very nice. Don't show my wife because she would want a professional to do our kitchen also

I've seen it. AWESOME. Especially the one episode where the (clueless/annoying) wife is on the hubby's rear end to tear out the wall and doesn't care if it's load-bearing or not! Just do it....

That's why I said I wish there were MORE shows like that.

I don't care what HGTV, DIY Network or Home Depot advertises, 99.9% of the time a typical home owner will not be able to achieve the same results that we can, within similar time restraints and budget.
I could look at professionally remodeled kitchens all day. I love to see the different options/features/colors/items all put together in a truly stunning manner. Shout out to Chris Wright's bathrooms!!!!!
On the other hand, it kills me to see cheaply slapped together materials without much rhyme or reason.

Well I didnt intend on doing that when I did but, I went to put in a new window and found a ton of rot, saging floor joists, pitched roof over a rotten flat roof, the old sistern burried under some concrete, 3' wide stacked stone foundation corners, moving basement stairs, you know just a few simple things.
