Custom Stairs By: Texas Remodel

Here are the finished stairs with carpet. Tell me what you think, good or bad. I love input.

Craftsmanship looks good... Design wise...

The starting tread looks a tad off... Something about the long curve (over a straight riser?) meeting a sharp corner then curving again on the short side... Doesn't flow together very well.

Why the double rosettes on the wall rail?

Finished nice! Bottom step does not seem right to me either. It needs to be curved or wrap around or something. Thats all I got!!

Looks good.. I agree with the weird bend on the left. Seems low to me where the rail coming up the stairs hits the top post? The other 4 posts on the top section dont have to be longated faces, unless thats the look you were going for, and you used nice curved 90's on the top section than mitered the rail on the right at the bottom?

Could just be a tropical delusion... but the bottom riser looks a lil shorter than the rest, but overall I think it looks like ****... Just kiddin! Nice work!

Why would you put a finished oak tread and riser in the middle of a veritable sea of pink carpet?

Better late then never, I'd keep that crap out of the portfolio. Nothing matches. All hodge podge.

The best designers usually don't do symmetrical designs. I like the left bend.

Re: Custom Stairs By: Texas Remodel

The whole thing looks forced. It appears not to be curved at the bottom. I'm seeing straightness at the apex of the curve.

Also why does the left rail looking up appear bobbled? Note: Just past first column.
