Storm Chasers HACK Job

See if you can pick out all the things very wrong here.
this homeowner is a relative and was taken by a guy bidding and doing jobs within 2 days of the storm. I wish I could have helped him out, but the guy must have been a good salesman.

Re: Storm Chasers HACK Job

I don't see anything a new roof couldn't fix.

The idiot flat out stated by his work that the shingle manufacturer can't provide as good a warranty as HE can. So he voided theirs, and took it on himself. He obviously makes more money than GAF, Celotex, Timberline, and Elk combined.

See it all the time.

Yes. It looks like the siders left an 'outie' lip, then they added a drip-edge. At least, that was my take on the photos.

Like I said, they VOIDED any other warranty but their own. That, high nails, etc.

Re: Storm Chasers HACK Job

old drip edge not removed/new drip too large ,2 piece soffit chop (triangle),not enough fascia overhang, shingles butted and sealed to bottom of rake,1 more course should be under the box vent and it should have been painted before installation, horrible rake lap onto hip w/popped nails sealed w/silicone,shingles installed w/ a 2 step rack, not enough overhang and no weave at valley/fascia juncture(is that a tab stuffed in),high nailed and over pressured(nailthru),I would like to see where the nails are in relation to the seams on the above shingles----nothing nice to say here
