Interesting. Now that you mention it I see the difference as well.

Many people (contractors and homeowners) throughout the country do not realize that a roof can look like brand new if it is cleaned properly. I am posting these pics to educate and inform. If you don't like it or if you're not interested in the concept, don't look at them.
RoofACide, just a word of advice, when trying to sell your product it's not a good idea to have an attitude towards your potential customers. This is coming from someone who believes in the power of roof cleaning and this it is necessary for the longevity of some roofs, like wood.

I think half the problem is that your postings are borderline spam in the fact that you are promoting a product in a public forum. That's just my opinion.

Re: Making And Old Roof Look Like New

It seems like most every forum site has a few lowlifes that continue to spam under the guise of "educating" or "passing the word". It's a little hard for me to believe that they actually don't think what they're doing is improper. I would have been able to stomach Roof-a-cide's posts a little better if he'd have posted them as user "john q. public" and added a few pics with some sort of question. Heck, he wasn't even "sneaky" about it. He just outright spammed. Jeeze....

The other roofers should voice up, because the ones who have voiced up seem to have a negative opinion. I'm just trying to be fair and give you the benefit of the doubt because I approve of contractor education but there is a fine line when educating a contractor, who is also a potential customer, on ones own product.

Okay Roof-A-Cide, since I have sooo much time on my hands and no hobby I'll reply.

The before and after tags on your images implys the same building, I'm just pointing out that they are not, but while we are at it why are all the before pictures dark (late in day?) and just a little out of focus? While the after pictures are in the bright sunshine, crisp and clear.

And the statement about saving 60k -- If they had spent it they would have new roofs! Maybe delayed the reroofing but they should hold on to the money for now.

Have a nice day, I am tired and need to get back to the couch.

I did notice that Roof-a-cide spent the best part of three hours combing through threads on the site looking for one to back him up. He just doesn't get it, does he?

Re: Making And Old Roof Look Like New

There is another forum I am a meber of, and a gentleman I shall call RK came to the forum. RK is filled with alot of good knolwedge IMO. The problem with RK is every post was a way for him to push his services onto us contractors. We contractors were his target market.

It got to the point that even though he shared alot of great information, he was forced to leave that forum because people don't come to forums to be sold.

This applies directly to you, John from Roof-a-cide. It'd be one thing if you came to the forum and shared a bunch of knolwedge about a bunch of topics and pushed your product when someone asked a question specific to your product. You went about it the wrong way. You came in pushing your product hoping to spark some interest... and we just don't want to be sold here where we come to relax.

Right on. It's sort of like when a businessman in a suit walks into a working man's tavern and sits down at the bar. Everyone feels weird and knows that he just doesn't belong.
