New Deck

This is a deck I built recently with some Newtech composite wood. I used the different colors to match the brick of the house. How do you guys like it?

I am not a big fan of it, but if the homeowner likes it, great job!

Re: New Deck

Very tough to look at a deck like that without furniture. It's very stark. If your going to use it for your portfolio, take another pic after it's furnished. With some white wicker on it, and plants and such, it could look great.

Re: New Deck

The carpentry part looks really good. thumbs up on that. The color is another story, a LITTLE TOO LOUD!! Maybe put some plants on there to tone it down a few decibles. I hope they dont get red mulch to match the deck, then a red lawnmower.....

Re: New Deck

I was trying something different with the mixing of the colors of composite decking, however I will tell them to get a red lawnmower and red shoes and red shirts too

Re: New Deck

I think your deck is really nice. But if you take photos for your portfolio just make sure that everyone knows you dint do the brickwork. That is god awfull!

Don't forget to tell them to get a red hat as well for those hot Texas days!

Re: New Deck

Construction quality looks top notch. I wouldn't have a deck like that in my backyard though.

Oh, that's very good joey.
I'm sure the homeowners will really like it.
Now, I wanted to have that deck on my backyard, too.
Great job joey!

Re: New Deck

Nice job although I do prefer wood myself. I had a salesman around last week selling PVC decking. Have any of you used it?

Re: New Deck

Every time this thread pops up again I get a chuckle...that is some super red freakin' decking!!

Laune, you could do a search here on the specific brand of PVC decking you were shown. Many of us here have built w/ PVC decking before and we've talked about it on previous threads.

Re: New Deck

Point taken. I'm new to this board. Have you heard of a company called Fitrite who are new to Ireland but are apparently an American company with a large factory in England also.

Re: New Deck

myself, no. after doing some limited research on their site, I don't recognize ANY of the company names. Composite decking has attracted a LOT of new players...tons of companies have come out w/ composite decking, only to go out of business within a couple of years. I, myself would stay w/ an established company that's been around w/ a product that's been on the market for many years.

Of course, you may have companies that are well and established there that I've never heard of!
