$1.39 lf for ipe sounds real good what species was it? I had priced Tigerwood when I first started in case someone asked it was I think $1.99LF but that stuff is really nice I would like to do one I am sure I will get someone soon enough. I always tell people there is no such thing as a maintenance free deck, but low maintenance involves washing it down, a couple of times a year with a composite deck wash solution.
Had a 11:00 appointment to estimate a bathroom up in Ken Caryl Valley, lunch, then the part I hate, I gotta make 3 runs to accumilate materials for jobs to start, plus meeting my graphic designer to go over the final design of some direct mail pieces we are working on....

Plus had to drop the wife off at light rail this morning since she decided she didn't want to drive downtown with the icy roads, so I have to make sure I'm free around 5:30 to pick her up. blah, blah, same crap different day you know?

I usually buy decking from Rocky Mountain Forest Products up in Arvada, ever hear of them? You should get to know them if you haven't already, they are an excellent member to have on your team if you are doing decks.

As far as the species of Ipe, Ipe is the species, so I'm not sure what you are asking? I have no idea what it is going for now, it wouldn't suprise me if China is buying up all the Ipe, and hurricanes sunk the Ipe ships and a cow farted somewhere in Iowa out of turn and it is now costing $3.00 ln ft.

Re: My First Official Deck

I have talked with RMFP they have one in fountain, about 40 Mi south of me that is were I got info on the imported hardwood. I have talked to them on a number of occasions they have good prices but not many things I use they only have 3 composites and none that I deal with. I will be going with them if I get an ipe deck. I was under the impression that ipe was just a gereral reference to imported hardwoods. like tigerwood, cumaru, brazillian redwood but I stand corrected thanks for pointing out my idiocy I have a lot to learn and that is what I love about these forums.
