Landscape lighting projects
All of my projects are low voltage. This is an entry to a housing developement in Marble Falls, Texas. There are 30 fixtures using 1220 watts on two transformers.

Here is a cool one. The swing is a great focal point. I used a 20 watt mr16 lamp with a 36 degree beam. The fixture is mounted on a limb about 15' above the swing.

Very nice. I love the drama of the first one and the simplicity of the lit swing. Makes me want to have a seat. Does the light shine in the swingers eyes?

Sorry it has takin' so long to get back on here.
The light over the swing is actually about 20' above so it does not shine in the eyes.
I use mostly Kichler lighting.

Thank you very much. I hope that these photos will spur some questions regarding design and such.

One of my next projects will be to install outdoor lighting. I have done this in two of my previous houses, but never really tried to do more than light a walk way. I never used anything better than the Malibu stuff either. This time I want to do it right. My primary goal is to light up the property without the glare you get from floods. I want to keep the light from shinning on neighbors houses also. You know the whole light pollution thing. I really don't know what questions to ask yet. As far power and wiring, I'm OK there. Really I think it comes down to what fixtures to use for each object I want to light and from what angle they should project their light. Once I get started on this project I'm sure I'll have some specific questions. I'm currently installing a sprinkler system and laying extra conduit in the trenches for my future low voltage lighting project.
Thanks
Rob

5500 to be exact!!!
I am in the process of selling a large scale lighting project. 1 acre about 10 minutes from Oprahs Santa Barbara house. Amazing estate, and I remodeled the back house...40K and 6 weeks of work......I do love picky customers, they pay whatever you ask but you better deliver boy!
This lighting project will have some inspiration from Pauls swing. I will probably light it up with 35W diffused/honeycombe spot, will play with the degree, and about 75 pathway lights, about 50 well lights. The hardest part is going to be the on/off switching. I want the lighting to be controlled from inside the house...no timers....wastes too much power (selling point, specially for democrats). I am still a little unsure on which transformers to use. I have good sucess with FX, but that Unique is looking nicer and nicer each day. However they are very expensive so we shall see.

For control in the home, on a project of this size I would suggest using Control Scape. This will allow you to use 8 transformers and control them all seperately or all together.
The swing that you are referring to is illuminated with a 20 watt MR16 with a 36 degree beam.

I believe this is the unit you are talking about.
http://www.controlscape.net/catalog/...products_id=28
Is there something similar that can be installed in wall. No one needs another remote laying around waiting to get lost. Having either a flat panel LCD or some kind of controller that can be mounted stationary. The Control Scape looks nice, but for the house this is going in a eye pleasing display is important.
Thanks
