Your Thoughts On This Car
Do you think that the amazing Dodge Challenger concept car will go into production? If it does, I want one!

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
Oh, to turn the time back and be able to buy one off the showroom floor at the prices of yesteryear!

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
I'm not a big Mopar Fan but this a great looking Car ...I however hope that the new Camaro goes into production in 2009 cuz if it does I will definetly have one sitting in the garage next to to the 69 SS that i have now .

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
Supposedly, it's been approved for production in 2009. I'd take one, but given the choice, I'd much rather have the '69 Charger with the REAL hemi anyday.
While we are on the subject of Mopar... what's everyone's thoughts on the option of restoring a 73 Goldduster? There is one for sale locally here that has potential, but I'm afraid of the cost involved... If it was a Super Bee or a Roadrunner, Challenger, or Charger, I'd have no reservations at all, but a Duster??? What say you?

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
What are you expecting? 440 Hemi, dual Holly double pumpers, factory collectors? Get real. What you will get is a POC, regulated by the govt with at least 1/2 doz. computers to control everything. Another BS move by Dodge/Daimler Benz. Nice bodies though, will they last? Much is yet to be seen.

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
I love the retro revival that has been going on quietly and ever so slowly for the last 25 years in the car industry. The new Mustang is really awesome looking and so is the Charger, is a GTO far behind?
Does anybody know who started all this and you can thank for it? - Mazda with the Miata believe it or not. |

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
The new Beetle came out in 1998 or 1999, the Miata hit the roads in 1990. Somebody might even be able to come up with something to preceed the Miata.
I'll throw in a pirate just for good measure.

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
Realpurty, Nothing wrong with the Gold Duster, however if memory serves me right, the 318 was the largest engine available. A 340 would be nice, but it's still a very rare car. A buddy of mine used to own a '71 Dodge Demon 340, 4 spd. pistol grip, 3:91 posi, totally stock and it ran mid 13's in the quarter. Plus it sounded mean and looked beautiful. I think you should buy the Duster and drop in a Hemi or a 440 six pack!

Re: Your Thoughts On This CarQuote:
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but wasn't it Miata 1990, then Viper 1992, Prowler 1993, which are both throwbacks of the old Shelby Cobras? I'm pretty sure the new beetle didn't come along until 99.

Ron, there is nothing about that car that says "behave"
I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
If they keep that body style and not let it get abortionized, IMO that is the best throw back body style I've ever seen. The new rustang looks cool, but it's missing the older body lines which this charger seems to envelope.
Very sharp looking car, looks like a Foose design/concept, but I do not like Dodge's and Slopowers Anybody seem to notice the Slopwer craze with restorations and sky high pricing now? Buddy of mine use to part out cars like mine and then went into the newer styles as well, he dropped both lines and went strictly used nopower's and is making twice that with half the inventory of what he used to do with the newer camaro's/firebirds. He'll buy a perfectly good all parts there duster/super bee that needs restored and make big bucks parting them out!! Almost like a buddy that parts out motorcycles, he can make enough money parting out crotch rockets, he buys 2 brand new ones a month...go figure.

Re: Your Thoughts On This Car
Wow, those AC Cobras have been my dream car since i first laid eyes on one (in a book). But even back then, maybe 12-15 years ago one in mint condition was like $250,000. I can only wonder about its value now.
