Your Personality Type

There was a thread a few days ago that was sort of addressing this issue but I cant find it or an already done thread so here goes...

For quite some time psychology has used the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to sort people into 16 basic personalities, no doubt some of you are familiar with it. Its interesting, everyone doesnt fit neatly into a box but its enlightening.

I'm an XNTP, X because I dont fit neatly into an Introvert or Extrovert box. Heres a link to give you an overview, http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-p...e/mbti-basics/

There has to be some heavy leaning towards some types with this crowd.

Re: Your Personality Type

I scored INTJ today.

I'm not sure I put much faith in these MBTI tests anyhow. I go through phases, moods, periods in life, etc where the answers to any of the standard MDTI questions could be remarkably different.

Take the test:

Thats interesting, my son (INTJ) is graduating shortly with a masters in mechanical engineering, very booksmart but I'm not sure he could build a birdhouse with all the pieces precut and a set of instructions. I'm trying to get him to work with me for a while but....

Which is one reason these tests are total BS. I scored the same as your son, but I have built entire houses, not just birdhouses.

I have a feeling that if I could get him to stoop down to my world for a while he'd pick up building skills, he just doesnt want to and its hurting his prospects.

Drive is a big factor too, I havent heard of the test for drive. Its not total BS, drive seems to be the horsepower behind the mbti.

Re: Your Personality Type

10/10 I'm an INTJ.

Construction offers such a wide spectrum of occupations, I don't think any one particular personality will represent the majority.

Surprised at the number of other INTJ's though, we're supposed to represent less than 1% of the population. Mayyybe I'm wrong and we're on to something here.

We need more samples

I'd rather think that there's something about the INTJ personality type that leans a person toward the skilled trades, maybe?
