I'd love to know 2 things , 1) is how they manage to work around curing and drying times for a lot of the work they do such as tile and such. You can't walk on it, so how do they keep working?

2) I'd love to know how they manage the inspection process. They must have some sort of agreement with the building departments jurisdictions they are in, because they have got to be getting something done and signed off on the spot in order to do what they do.

I would think a behind the scenes look with contractors as the audience would be pretty amazing to see.

Re: Your Favorite Shows

What I'd like to know or see fist hand is how much is made for TV with the editing BS that goes on.

The show Pinks filmed at our race track-show where guys raced old school style and gave car lengths and lost their car with a best of 3 or 5 race set-up

In reality, NOBODY lost their cars....one fella that showed up for second race filmed that day did'nt see first race himself, lost his car in his portion and almost started punching the guy that beat him until the host told him to ssettle down, your not losing your car!!!!

I'm usre alot of that sheeot is fake or edited and time frames mulipulated.

The extreme thing just did a one day house remod a few doors down from my mothers place in VA. She said they had an after crew come in for a week, probably nailing it together. It airs this month, Blacksburg Va, thought I might watch it.

Re: Your Favorite Shows

One of my trade magazines call shows like this "remodeling ****ography" The way they show things done, the poor designing, the blatant code violations and poor work practices they use, as well as the misleading of viewers into thinking that this is how "real" contractors could and should work. Then there are the "eye candy" women, hunky carpenters, and other calculated factors to entice viewers.

I always cringe when a prospective client says she saw it on EHM or some other non-reality remodeling show.

Back to the Paul senior topic. I actually know someone that did a log home for a bike builder that knows Paul very well. He asked him if it was for the show or if it was for real. He said that it was all for the show.

Damn, I don't know which is worse.

Sitting around staring at the cognitive ability depletion box installed in just about every home everywhere, or reading a thread about other people sitting around wasting away with that thing.

Btw, talk about a narrow field of choices for a poll too. Do you watch bikers, bikers, or dirty stuff?

Paul sr.'s attitude is about 80% for tv. That show wouldn't be half as interesting if it wasn't for the fights.
