Yea, I plan on shooting one of the dag gum deer that ate all my favorite plants while I was out of town. I'll prolly toast to her demise with a few brews and a fatty. BBQ will no doubt be eaten.

Mine won't be as exciting. We're just going to light a bunch of stuff on fire. I have a whole slew of cutoffs that need to be burned and it's kind of cold. Xmas tree burning time too.

That's the family secret, having fun with fire.

Re: Will You Be Celebrating The Arrival Of 2017?

Small gathering of family and friends... we had all the kids for Christmas, which was awesome, but not New Years...

I guess it's time to remind ourselves to be thankful for what we've got not what you don't... at least we had them all at Christmas...

Something about fires all men seem to love, ha. You should see what we call cedar trees (actually juniper) go up in flames. Once they get going it's almost like someone threw a gas bomb in there, they just explode into flames.

This is so true. What is it about just making a fire bigger that makes it that much more awesome? We had a pretty big fire pit. Then we made a huge fire pit. Now, it's enormous.

Watching the Oilers play the Canucks while snacking on whatever I find in the pantry.
Likely won`t make it to the actual event, so go ahead and start without me.

My pop stopped by at 7 am after me and my brother started the DWVs in my foundation, put together my toilet assemblies on his work table, told us I wouldn't do it like that, left at 11 and smoked these ribs.

Sounds like Dad's everywhere. I was teaching my kid today about the jointer, Dad stops by because he was visiting my sister, asks what we're doing. Junior tells him, "we're edge jointing wood for a door for daddy's work." Ole man looks up and says, "Why are they cut close to size? Why not the whole board then cut to size?"

Except my old man didn't cook ****, he watched for 10 more minutes disrupting my child labor and went home

We do a lot of things the same, which makes since as I cut my teeth under him as an adolescent and young man, but many things I do different and so does my brother, especially management styles and the order we do things. His tag line is always "that's not how I would do it"

Hey will also often tell us, in detail, how to do stuff we have been doing for almost 20 years that's a new development. We both endure it as he seems to enjoy it

Re: Will You Be Celebrating The Arrival Of 2017?

Ended up two doors down with about four neighbors all crammed into one living room. Champagne toast (gross), fireworks, and made it home safely. All 73 steps to my door. Lol. Happy new year! Time for bed.

Re: Will You Be Celebrating The Arrival Of 2017?

We have this tradition of snapping a pic as the ball drops and flashes the New Year and sometimes in yelling Happy New Year, we don't get the pic we wanted... that is, until this year when some suggested we DVR it, pause and THEN take the snap you want... DUH! Don't ask me why we didn't think of THAT before...

Here's your sign...

Happy New Year !...
