Who's Keeping In Shape?

Since the heart attack I'm on a new venue.

Tai Chi every morning, 100 sit ups and 100 pushups 3 times a week, 30 pullups three times a week (alternate styles). I've gone back to Taekwondo and Aikido classes (once a week, each). Had to put down the bench weights, just in case something 'happens'.

Surf's great with the offshore hurricanes, we don't get overhead here often. Haven't been waterskiing much, gas has kind of put a damper on that hobby.

I'll be 56 next July. Ripping and slicing, God willing.

Yeah, right. I'd like to see you post a video of your old butt doing 30 pull ups and 100 push ups.

I normally start out my morning by jogging 30 miles, doing 3 or 4 hundred pushups and pullups, bungee jump off a tall building, and then a hearty breakfast.

I'm assuming that this is a bad post to the Frito's crowd.

md, knocking off anything posted has never been a problem for me, some of it is required due to back problems (since 18). Center yourself.

Little Chocolate Donuts

Anouncer.....Marv Albert
.....John Belushi

[ open to John Belushi preparing to do the Olympic high jump ]

Announcer: John Belushi is on his way to a gold medal in the Decathlon! They're setting the bar at seven feet - here's his approach..

[ John Belushi runs toward the bar. Quick cut to John jumping over the top of the bar. Quick cut to John landing on the grass. ]

Announcer: He got it! Belushi's won the gold, now he's going for the world's record!

[ cut to John Belushi running long-distance sprint and winning, as his fans crowd around him ]

[ cut to John at home ]

John Belushi: [ seated at breakfast table smoking a cigarette ] I logged a lot of miles training for that day. And I downed a lot of doughnuts. Little Chocolate Donuts. They taste good, and they've got the sugar I need to get me going in the morning. That's why Little Chocolate Donuts have been on my training table since I was a kid.

[ cut to John Belushi going for the gold in the javelin toss ]

Announcer: Little Chocolate Donuts. The donuts of champions.

Surfing is so good for the body.

What type of board will you be riding?

There are many over 60's surfer here that are bringing back the longboard era.

Re: Who's Keeping In Shape?

Try it, you'll like it...............eventually.

I've had to do situps since trashing my back at age 18, it's one of the things that has kept me out of surgery. I know that surgery is coming but the longer that I can put it off, the better the doctors and techniques get.

I have too many friends walking around looking like ducks. They also never helped themselves.

Re: Who's Keeping In Shape?

Now that summer is close to ending, I will be back at the gym 3x a week. I don't like going to the gym in the summer. For me, I do it mainly to help level stress (I love to walk), and the health benefits are a bonus, especially with those extra pounds that seem to creep up during the winter and holidays. I was fortunate enough to inherit my mothers genes. My blood pressure is typically 112/70's , and I have never had a cholestrol issue either. I have been seriously thinking about trying Yoga as well. Now to just quit smoking.....

Re: Who's Keeping In Shape?

I just started walking again in the mornings, early before hubby leaves. I want to start doing Pilates too. And lifting weights again. I'm in the worst shape of my life right now!
