Who doesn't like brownies?

I can't sleep. Needed something to do so I thought I'd share this with you. It's my favorite brownie recipe and always a hit when I take it places. Fattening, but sooo good.

GERMAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BROWNIES

1 box of german chocolate cake mix
2/3 cup of evaporated milk, divided
16 oz. package of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 bag of caramels (I use about 3/4)
3/4 cup of melted butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Combine dry cake mix with 1/3 cup evaporated milk and melted butter. Press half of the mixture into 9x13" cake pan. Bake at 350 for 5 min. Unwrap caramels and mix with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. melt over low heat. Sprinkle chocolate chips over partially baked brownie base (You do not have to let this cool). Sprinkle in walnuts. Pour caramel mixture over top. Pat reserve cake mixture into flat pieces with your hands. Lay randomly on top of caramel. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Let cool and eat.

I thought the same thing until I bit into a califlower head and bit a caterpillar, about 3/4's of an inch thick in half. The guts sprayed into my mouth and I inhaled and swallowed them. Ever since, I have lost the taste for bugs, even though, they add protein.

Talking

Biting bugs (by accident) is nothing compared to those TV shows "Fear Factor"...where contestants intentionally swallowing those 10 alive long-hairy-leg black "widow spiders" and stung scorpion babies!! .. Ummm.. very juicy & moist!!! .. and actually won $100K!!!

That's what you get for eating with your eyes closed. That's what the caterpillar got for closing his eyes before being eaten.

I'm allergic. I can't even handle them without getting sick. But if you like walnuts add all you want.

A sample was sent out to all you regulars this morning. If you don't receive it by monday, blame the mailman.

Also optional. Some call it garnish. Sprinkle (to taste) on top of brownies when baking is complete.

That SUX !!! Never knew it could affect a person on the exterior of their body.Thought it was from ingestion only.

ALL nuts or just walnuts? I know people have peanut allergies and I couldn't phathom a day whithout peanutbutter!(I have an un natural addiction to it!) Even spread it on brownies.

Guess the walnut allergies are less publicized due to the fact peanut oil is used in cooking alot and you see the warnings in restaurants everywhere you go.
