Re: What Have You Found?

A real estate investor I'm aquainted with purchased a house through a sheriffs sale. When they inspected the house after the purchase they found a dead body.

Rumor has it the guy was a somewhat of a hermit. middle aged. The neighbors just thought he moved and didn't give much thought to the abondoned house. The same neighbors actually maintained the yard for two years until the property was sold.

How sad to think that this guy lay dead for 2 yrs. and nobody missed him.

Re: What Have You Found?

Back when i roofed full time i did alot of redecks in northern IL. I would find a lot of bottles and newspapers.
Once seen a paper that had the first model t for sale at a dealership or something. I cant recall the exact price, but
i think it was like 250 bucks or something.

Outside of some really cool old bottles i have kept... i found some shaped hand planer blades for the trim in an old house.
They were in the newell post. i found a few skeletons too, critters, not folks. Snake skins in attics are real common i'm told.

I too still search for the proverbial coffe can full of silver coins.

You know, there are still sunken ships that are known to be carrying treasure, still not found. Most of the time they are in
shallow water near reefs and such.

Wanna go scuba diving?

I always seem to find old newspapers behind wall or floors we service. Guess they used newspaper for insulation back in the old days..

Re: What Have You Found?

I was looking at an old house this week with the owner, and found a cache of empty liquor bottles the teenager had stashed in the floor joists above the basement.

Re: What Have You Found?

I was fishing wires across an attic once for a GC's personal house, and found the son's old stash box - still had some rolling papers and a bunch of seeds in it.
