Want To Protect Your Privacy? Don't Give Me Your Phone Number.

I just had a phone call from a guy who wanted some prices but didn't want to give me his name. Uh, whatever. He gave me his phone number, though.

So I went to 411.com and did a reverse lookup on the phone number. This produced his full name as well as his wife's and his home address. I took his home address and plugged it into Google Maps which produced not only the exact location of his house, but also a PICTURE of it. This guy would crap bricks if he knew how vulnerable he is just by giving me his phone number.

The Google pictures are incredible. I have taken tours of cities using this feature. You can use the direction buttons and cruise up and down the streets, and even rotate the view. I don't know how long they've been doing this, and not all neighborhoods are mapped yet. But it looks like if they drive down the street once they've got pics.

I put my brother's address into google earth and took a cyberflight down the eastern seaboard zoomed right in on his city in Fla., then his 'hood and finally right above his house. Clicked on the camera thingy, rotated and stared at his front door.

Sent chills up my spine.

Good Luck

Where is this guy?
He must never have ordered a pizza
or rented a movie.
Once you give them your phone
they have everything instantly.

WOW!!!

Now that is awesome technology.

They must be using an image matching feature similar to facial recognition to pluck the similar photos off of the net.

Thats almost way too Big Brother scary.

I could give you my personal number and you wouldn't be able to find out anything, not even my name.

But that google maps is incredible, with the "street view" I was able to get a picture of one of my buildings (see below), too bad it wasn't in real time.
