Typical DIY's
I got my cousin a job in the yard at menards last year and he's always telling me stories of how idiotic people can be when loading material.
Anyways I was out there the other day returning shingles and noticed a ford range with a 4'x6' trailer, guy did not have the proper hitch so rea of trailer was about 6" off the ground and traielr itself was approaching the 30-45* angle territiory. What got my attention beyond that was the fact he was loading 16' 2x4's and draggin them throughout the warehouse-literally sanding the edge off as he drove did my business and went to go out the gate, noticed the ranger guy stapling red plastice to the 2x4's, but now he had the tailgate down, 2x4's touching the front of his short bed pickup box and the rest being balanced by the trailer...I had to watch this since I knew what was coming...He starts pulling away and I dont think he was even able to turn the steering wheel 1/2 turn and the boards wedged up in the truck box and then put enough pressure on his strap on traielr it borke it and then the boards did the fan out and start to let themselves pull off the truck onto the parking lot I got my laugh, drove arond him after he stopped to pick up the mess and go to plan D.... seen some fella last year buy a bunch of paneling, roped it to the top of his geo metro-seriously, then duct taped the leading edge to the windsheild, dont know whatever happened to him

Re: Typical DIY's
It's crazy isn't it? Could you imagine letting the public load stuff into let's say a rented vehicle that they have never driven before, one that is bigger than anything they are used to driving, let them load it all with really no previous experience and then let's add for fun that the owners of these rental trucks kind of do a glance over the trucks and proclaim them road worthy. Oops I guess that is Uhaul isn't it?

You know its a darn shame that for $19, a person can rent the store vehicle for an hour with only a drivers license. And they'll load the thing for you if you ask. I've used it for anything from a ton of concrete to double doors. Beats trashing my little truck. Did I mention they'll load it?
