A Trip To The Mall

I had to actually....walk IN to the mall for the first time in years, just to get some money for BestBuy (scumbags don't take ATM cards)

I'm trying to pinpoint what it is exactly in a mall that it reminds me of. It's like a carnival or something. Strange, strange people. Watching the people in the middle booth things there, my god, these people are actually.....hired. I thought looking for a decent carpenter was hard. Is this the pool they got to choose from?

Bleach blondes going into the clothing stores like it's a fashion show. Guys throwing airplane things in circles. And how many freakin' sunglasses places do we need?

It's like the mall has turned into one gigantic Spencer Gift store.

What do you expect out of the Maine Mall? Try out the one on route 9 in Newton MA, full of Aholes and not a single plane that goes in circles.

Re: A Trip To The Mall

My wife and I like to eat at a certain restaraunt at our local mall, and I'm always up for a walk through the tool section at Sears. You're right... it does put you in mind of a carnival atmosphere. I feel like the only "regular" guy at the mall. It's not all that often I feel odd or out of place, but that's one place that I do feel odd. That same mall is also a customer, but when I work there, it's early in the morning. Nothing but a bunch of old, retired people walking laps around the mall for health. Pretty normal in the mornings. In the evening, the carnival ramps up.

There's this new invention....some say it's just a fad ....rumor has it you can buy just about anything on it.
maybe you've heard of it.....but don't tell everyone...ok......secret....it's called the "internet".

I have no idea when I was in a mall last ....it is a FREAKSHOW! Maybe I should go again....just for the never ending human comedy

Actually, it's a Bonanza, which is pretty much the same as Ponderosa. I'm a sucker for a steakhouse.

Yeah, we have some Red Robins and Fudruckers around (basically the same deal). Overpriced, if you ask me. You're paying for ambiance, I think. The food is good enough, but I just don't see the value. Ate with the wife at Outback Monday evening when we were out birthday shopping for the youngest. Got to revisit that blooming onion for hours and hours.

Three cheers for fudruckers because can finally get a burger dressed the just the way you want it.

One of our Fudruckers was near a Mother Tuckers restaurant. - Talk about a tongue twister.

I haven't been in a mall in probably 15 years (not counting malls under construction, of course), and probably won't in the next 15 years. I rank them right up there with watching popular TV and Mcdonalds.

I had to get a specific mouse for my laptop that I use for my CAD drawings out in the field. I cannot use that damn finger pad thing. I go for only the best (or close), just like my tools. Wired laser G5 gaming mouse. tried the wireless and I keep forgetting batteries or the charger. Plus the wired responds better than a wireless.

I loooooove a good steak house. We've got one around the Portland mall which I had a fillet mingon for the first time and just about died it was so good. Another is the peanut butter cup dessert at Pizzeria Uno or some call it the Chicago grill or something. My god, I have a stroke every time I eat one of those things

Re: A Trip To The Mall

Hate the malls (the crowds). Will only tolerate them when it's X-mas (last minute shopping). Although, I like working in them (building retail outlets)... Especially summer - lots of pretty women in sundresses, etc... No, I'm not a PIG, just a single guy who appreciates a pretty woman!!! Tried to get mall management to let us put a window in our hoarding wall - that was a no go!!! Good thing, no work would have got done (just a bunch of contractors staring out the window) Hahaha!!!

Funny, we had Bonanza, Ponderosa, and Fudruckers here!!! They're all gone now. I used to like them. Think the next to go might be Quiznos. I built the first 5 locations up here... Started out doing great, but a sub and drink for $12 or $13 for lunch is a little crazy!!! People don't want to pay those prices...

I have one of those. be careful about how you store it, don't bend the cord to much, my cord broke right where it goes into the mouse. One of these days I'm going to fix it so that I can use it again.

I'm the same way, in fact, I'll take it one step further- we raise our own beef, and the only thing that compeats with a home grown, home cooked steak is meat that you hunted.

Oh, and fudruckers can't compare to nap's grill in Hamilton Mt- Just get the Nap's deal- 3/4 pound cheeseburger, sourdough rolls, huge pile of fries, and a drink, and for six bucks, and it tastes so good that trust me, you won't have any trouble finishing.
