Tribute To Memorial Day

Lets all remember that this is not a day to make it your own memorial with unsafe behavior and driving.

Lets remember our troops and the fallen troops of wars past.

FLY YOUR FLAG HIGH THIS WEEKEND

Re: Tribute To Memorial Day

I lost my best friend in Iraq, he was a real class act to say the very least.

If you ever met him he'd have likely told you about his "good buddy Phil" or "philster" as I was once known. He was the kinda guy that actually stood up for people no matter what. He was both the goofiest and smartest guy i ever met, the most manly and childish guy I ever knew. He brewed his own beer, sipped Jack Daniels and smoked a pipe. He studied the history of war and literature. Often times after a few too many beers, we loved to laugh as he recited some random speech from some random general in some random war.

I was the first guy to know he was going to be a Dad, and was there the day he got married.

This guy came from a childhood of poverty, busted his butt and was making something of his life.

I met the guy who was in the truck with him when the accident occurred. He said everyone knew my buddy as "The Life of Baghdad".

Most of the good stuff in my life I owe in some way to Jarret, he taught me when times get tough a good laugh will get you through. His laugh was legendary and you'd never forget it if you heard it.

Well thanks for bringing up this topic, really brings back a flood of memories that i could write about all day. If ya get the chance tip back a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, it was his favorite.

and thankyou to all the guys still serving!
