Of course he can do it. It'll only take 5x as long and they probably won't finish the project anyway.

At this point, yes. I mainly build decks. He can pretty much just cut me blocks all day, hold random stuff, and screw boards and I'll come out ahead. As long as he sticks around I'll train him up.

Re: Totally Random Thoughts...

Should I work.....its Saturday just before 7 on a holiday weekend.........I have a bbq after 3:00. I know Im not working tomorrow or Monday......If I go in 7:45...owner is not home. Im pretty confident I can tear out that skylight, build the curb, mount, flash and clean up by lunch........

Thats leaves me a little wiggle room and time for a nap....

I think I reasoned it out and convinced myself....1 more coffee

Slacker!

Seriously though, you gotta pace yourself. You can't spend money if you're dead.

This small fill in job turned into a hassle, then the owner added work I don't have time for. The sooner it's off my list the better I will be.

It doesn't change your point though. I have a sickness. I have the curse of worry.

I was going to say that was early, but I forget sometimes that some people just insist on existing in a time zone other than PST. Or PDT, whatever it is now.

Sometimes when I see dogs, I don't like their owners.

People that don't know how to walk their dogs bother me.

I've kinds taken a 5 day weekend. Probably take Tuesday off from heavy work as well. I've gotten to where I just don't want to work 7 days and long days. I spent Thu-Fri just doing errands, running samples to folks, etc. Tuesday will be setting up a job for the next week, orders, contracts, etc. Sat-Mon is a chance for me to get stuff done at my own place, plus cut some glass for a friend of mine. Easy stuff.

It is going to be a long summer, I hope to actually enjoy some of it this year. It's been many years since I've had a sane summer pace.

All that being said, those small fill in jobs have a way of growing and messing up your main schedule.

Re: Totally Random Thoughts...

You'll do something business related on Tuesday, I'm sure of it.

I was at the shop Saturday morning and Saturday night, each for a less than a few hours. But I was there.

Today I was there making a drawer for myself and played with the dovetail machine a bit.

Tomorrow is going to rain, I'll probably put a full day in just because I have the work and what else am I gonna do, sit around?
