Tomorrow Is Sept 11th.
Anyways. About 6:00 am this morning I caught a documentary on 9-11, freaken brought back all the horrible memories of that day, all the memories of where I was, what I was doing, all the emotions of seeing all those innocent Americans slaughtered, women jumping out of the top floors of the trade center... fireman climbing the stair wells to be killed just trying to save innocent lives...
Regardless of your stance, regardless of your political beliefs, say a prayer and think about America, what it means and think about those innocent people tomorrow. |

Re: Tomorrow Is Sept 11th.
Same here, I will never forget.
It still haunts me, listening on the radio as it all unfolded, and when the towers fell, thinking of all the brother firefighters, as well as police officers, Port Authority Officers, rescue workers, and all the other people that perished. I will be the first to admit my heart was in my throat for hours. I never got to see any images until I got home later that night, it was as bad as I could imagine though. I called my wife right after the first tower was hit and had her turn on CNN. We were talking and she was watching when the second plane hit. Right then and there, like most of America, I knew we were under attack. It was a moment in time that will never be forgotten. Then the Pentagon, then the crash in Pennnsylvania. All I can remember is thinking "My gosh, what's next?" Than God that is as far as it went. May God bless all those who perrished, and comfort the families and loved ones of those who gave their lives to save others, and those who lost their friends and family as well.

Re: Tomorrow Is Sept 11th.
Today is a day none of us will ever forget! May God bless all the people who died 6 years ago today. I watched in unbelief while it took place. We had a TV where I was working. The worse day I can remember for America. We pulled through and are still fighting to keep us safe. Never forget the heroes that gave their lives to try and save others.
God Bless America. |

Re: Tomorrow Is Sept 11th.
I remember how silent it was because of no planes flying overhead, and I also remember how courteous people were when driving, always letting people in, no cutting people off, etc. Kinda wish we didn't have such short memory spans. I need to practice what I preach myself.

Re: Tomorrow Is Sept 11th.
I had been in several unique places and situations in the Corps and never believed something like that would happen here. I spent a long day that week on the pile with a S&R crew from my fire house and it was just like Beirut "83" to me. The sad thing is I don't believe we are in any better a state of preparedness now than we were then.
