The A-Team

Netflix has "The A-Team" available on instant watch so I've been watching a few episodes.

I have to say it makes a lot more sense now than when I was a kid. Mainly because it's in English. Somehow Mr. T sounds more intimidating when he's not dubbed over in German. Actually the whole show sounds better. They had 2 people doing the voice overs for the show to translate it in German. One man, one woman. So all the male characters sounded the same and all the female characters sounded the same. In english it's a much better show!

What ever happened to the good old days of 80's action TV? It's entertaining without being bloody. I watched about 15 episodes so far and nobody died in a spray of blood. Usually they fall down or their junk hits a ramp and flips on the roof.

Also did you notice that the bad guys usually wear cowboy hats, drive Jeeps, and always have a helicopter?

It's a little stupid, but it' so entertaining.

What are some of your favorite shows from back in the day? I'd like to watch Airwolf in english for the first time. Never seen an english episode of Dallas, Dynasty, or LA Law either. Considering how much cooler Mr. T sounds in english I'm going to have to dig some of those up!

Re: The A-Team

I watched Star Trek sometimes and other than that was not a TV watcher.
I liked boring stuff like the history channel and National Geographic, but I did like the A team.

Re: The A-Team

It brings back some memories. My best friend growing up was Rolf. He had an older brother, Ernst, who painted his VW Bus up like the A-Team van. Ernst wore a bunch of gold chains around his neck too. At the time I thought he was uber cool. Now I realize he was kind of a douche.

Re: The A-Team

I used to watch the A Team when i was a kid. I can't pick up a trash bag to this day without thinking "TRASH BAGS!! I NEED TRASH BAGS!!"

If you haven't seen that episode yet, you'll know what I'm talking about when you get to it.

a little over 15 years ago I was in a real a-team. Fun times... jumping outta planes, free fall school, underwater ops.. I miss the good times.

Re: The A-Team

We have a local channel that is a sister CBS channel, called Retro TV (RTV)

They play the A-Team every night at 10:00pm

I have watched it every now and then. Seems boring now, compared to when I was a kid.

We all watched the Dukes of Hazard and the Fall Guy round here and when we turned 16 we were the Duke Boys. It really amazes me that we are not all dead.
