Swine Flu: What Do You Use?
So, I been following the swine flu story on the news and, we contractors enter a lot of people's homes, greet different people, as well as work in dusty, dirty conditions. How do you guys keep safe and clean?
What products do you use? |

Heart disease has taken about 2000 lives today. Governor of Maine has declared a civil state of emergency. I know this is not to be taken lightly, but this is overblown just a tad.

Re: Swine Flu: What Do You Use?
250,000 people die from the normal yearly flu strain. And they are going crazy because something like 80 people have died. Most in Mexico.

Re: Swine Flu: What Do You Use?
In the first place, "clean" is highly overrated in our society. It's actually arguable that a certain amount of ongoing exposure to various crud & bugs helps maintain your resistance to them.
In the second place, staying physically active contributes a lot to one's overall health. I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that office workers get sick at least twice as much as those who work in the building trades (though of course they're much more likely to keep all of their fingers and toes). I would also guess that as a group, our diet is healthier than that of the more sedentary worker. Sandwiches and subs are better for you than a lot of the junk that office workers consume--and we burn up the calories more efficiently as well. And most of all, don't forget... Alcohol kills germs!

precaution necessary for you and me today, as compared to preparations to produce 300,000,000+ doses of vaccines for next flu season to combat a new transmissible strain of flu. Especially since the last time a swine flu vaccine was rushed into production with insufficient testing, it was more dangerous than the influenza itself (proximate cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome.) The "Spanish flu" that killed 60,000,000 in 1918 was a strain of H1N1. Do you want the government to wait til next year and see how it goes before they start to prepare a vaccine that will be ready for the 2011 fle season?

Re: Swine Flu: What Do You Use?
The belief is that all flu
originates in birds, then develops the ability to jump to other species. Or not. Apparently the avian flu can be passed from birds to humans, but not so easily from person to person. This one goes from swine to human, then quite nicely from person to person.

If you get it, - - turn on your AC and head out to DC, - - this country could use a good cleansing . . .
