SW Idaho Folks? Anybody?

Hey all ya'll SW Idaho folks, can you please help me out?
How are things in construction in ID?
Are the any industries hiring that a guy could work in while nuturing his constructing company back to health?

I have been trying to relocate my family to the greater Boise area for about 2 years, but can't even find work at the local Wally World. I've applied at the the contractors there so many times, they've stopped acknowledging me.

Help!?!

it's been slow, and I mean very slow. there are some guys with work, but nothing steady. Canyon County was reported to have around 12% unemployment a few months back, and I don't think it's changed much. Tech companies have been laying ppl off for the last few years.

North Idaho is a little better. Especially my area, colleges are back in session. Things are picking up. Hearing good things about CDA and Spokane.

We are oversatuarated with people in the construction field here in Boise. There was a time when Micron, HP, Albertson's was kicking butt, and there were a lot of jobs for people with college degrees. Those jobs have practically dried up. As a result, there isn't so much need for builders. Don't get me wrong, there is always opportunity available, but now is not a great time to start a construction company here.

Great place to start a high tech company and/or Boeing. Also, it's a nice place to live as is almost everyplace in the U.S.

Firewood is going gangbusters right now. $300 for a cord of split/stacked tamarack. Wish I'd cut my 10 cords this year.

What are firewood prices like in Boise Flash? I feel like I left $3K on the table.
