Ouch! I kinda almost feel really bad for the guy. She could've atleast saved him some embarrassment & told him yes for the time being.

When I purposed... I did it in front of all my family, her parents, and many friends on Christmas Eve. We have a big Christmas party, Santa comes & hands out presents to the kids, and he pulls out the last one & calls her over on his lap. She was clueless. When I did it, she along with every other woman at the party cried. If I would've watched this clip before that I don't think I would've did it that way.

My wife (girlfriend at the time) and I were living in an apartment at the time when she proposed to me. It went like this:

Her: We've been going out a while and living together for 6 months now, we'll be getting married or your outta here.

Me: OK.

We've been married for 20 years now.

I don't think it's entirely the womans fault for wanting the attachment. I think that the girls mother has a lot of influence on them and they are forever pushing the marriage angle onto them. And if you notice, as soon as you get married the Mom-in law tune changes over to "So when are you going to give me grandchildren??"

The roughest period in my marriage was the first two years when we were getting the money management problems out of the way. She also wanted to keep up her bar hopping ways at the beginning, then she didn't come home one night until the clock struck 2 am, I had put a padlock on the outside of the door to illustrate a point. She was pissed, screaming an yelling at me from the cold outside. And I explained how things were going to be from the toastiness of the warm inside (it was wintertime). Needless to say, she learned that night how a married woman should act. And that was as much training as she needed. After the 2 year training period each of us had with the other we get along fine. One of the better judgments I made in my lifetime. Ask my Mom, she'll tell you so...
