Congratulations.

Re: Stop Smoking

I quit 2 1/2 yrs ago, I was up to 3 packs a day (at least). Never tried to quit before, no patch, no drugs, just cold turkey. Ate sunflower seeds in the begining but they started giving me heart burn.
I have 2 young daughters and they are pretty much the reason I quit. I smoked for 28 yrs, so that was long enough. My problem is nibbling, gotta always have snacks now, especially gummy bears. Not the healthiest thing to do , but It still beats the alternative.
Good luck, be determined and don't give in, don't give those damn things power over you, that goes for any addiction. I quit the booze 16 yrs ago too!

Re: Stop Smoking

A guy i know from another website just started using this.....really don't know much about it, but he says they're available in North America.....may be the answer for some of you with a harder time quitting than most....here's a little vid of him explaining it.

Re: Stop Smoking

I make my own . $11.00 per carton and better than commercial brands . I'll quit when tobacco is outlawed entirely ... or just grow my own like an " Old Hippie."

Re: Stop Smoking

I am root'in for you all the way!
I quit when smokes hit $1.25 a pack, I told my wife Phillip Morris could find some other sucker.
Quitting was tough, but you can do it! I remember eating like a horse too RBS but thats OK cause the money youll save on cigs will more than pay for the higher grocery bills and maybe even a gym membership if you need to work some weight off!

Re: Stop Smoking

So how are the quitters doing now? Everyone hanging in there?

In other words, the prices should be enough of a stupid tax, if only the for the money, let alone your lungs. I still can't believe I smoked for 27 years.

Re: Stop Smoking

Congrats to all the people that quit smoking. Doc says I need a lung biopsy and possibly chemo and radiation. Yeehaa.

I still can't kick the habit, but that's ok. Smoking is my stress relief and I knew the consequences so I ain't whining about it.

Re: Stop Smoking

I'm not too worried about it. They found it in Feb went I went in for my annual physical. I have tachycardia and I need a physical and EKG for that annually. Plus it was for my DOT. Other than shortness of breath and dizzyness I feel ok. The dizzyness could also be attributable to my degenerative heart condition. I plan on getting a biopsy later this winter when I have more time. Probably around Christmas break.

It ain't easy getting old.

Re: Stop Smoking

Been smokin 28 years except for a period where I was training to box. I might die from it, but I wont die from being lazy or fat. Long overdue physical and xray said lungs were fine.
