Re: Stop Smoking

I think the motivation to help me quit is the idea I was not in control.....and, being 47 and a smoker since 18, it was time unless I wanted COPD and cancer to be a specter in my life. I probably will still have problems, but I do feel better. Now....the weight loss is my goal...I picked up at least 30 pounds quitting...it is time to loose it.

You're on the right track. Smoking leads to erectile dysfunction.

Re: Stop Smoking

best of luck done the same myself. Have a baby coming in march so it's time to give up. Knocked the drinking on the head too, did I mention i need to lose some weight after Christmas. Its a good job I have a big Honey Do list to keep my mind off it, hopefully i don't smash anything in a fit of rage.

Six days in.

Extremely fatigued today. Lost 6 pounds down to 199 pounds from 205.

Still eating everything in sight, I think I am addicted to cinnamon poptarts

Good luck! Thi smay an exception to the adage that 'quitters never win'.

P.S. You lost 6 lbs while eating everything in sight?

One of the best substitutes I ever used was to brush my teeth every time I felt I just had to have a smoke. Didn't gain an ounce, and you could read a newspaper at midnight by my smile.

Re: Stop Smoking

Been smoking since i was 13....am 50 now!! And i'm at day 22 now myself!!

Didn't quit for want of it though.....was scotch guarding the new car interior, all the doors open, and not standing in a cloud or anything, but man did i ever have a horrible reaction.

Coulnd't stop coughing, went to the ER, the whole shebang!! Couldn't even think of smoking for the first week after. So after that, i figured WTF!!!

Got to the point where i did start to want one after the first week, but just try and stay busy, and every time i get the urge i just quickly try and occupy my mind with something else.......is getting easier, but still struggling a bit.

Congratulations there rbs......hope you continue to have good luck with it!!!!

Nice going Rory!

Stay with it. When I quit years ago I looked at the challenge of, who was in charge....me or this little stupid cigarette smaller than a pencil?

Now then, we will, at some point have to get you into "pop-tart rehab".
Those things can't be good for the colon!

Re: Stop Smoking

The jalapeno ones are good. Wish they had those when I was in the service. We used to eat them to stay awake in 'A' school.

The thing you have to look forward to after quitting smoking is that your taste buds return.

Ruth's Chris anyone?

Re: Stop Smoking

My aunt is a professional hypnotist and has offered to help me quit smoking through hypnosis. I should take her up on it, but I fear she might make me do the funky chicken while hypnotized.
