Sportbike Enthusiast's, And Bikers...

I've spent the last week putting back together my 87 hurricane for this years "ride to the dragon". Have any of you ever been, or heard of "deals gap", or "the dragon" as they call it? http://www.dealsgap.com/
Every year we get together and make a week out of it, and have a blast. Whether you kneedrag on rockets, or cruise on hog's it's a good time for all. The area caters to MC's, and the police are lenient as long as you stay within your limits. Stunters are sure to be escorted out, and they don't appreciate anyone crossing the double yellow's, but I've been spotted dragging pucks and footpegs around corners and simply got warned with a shake of the finger by the local po-po. Anyone in the locale should surely get a group and try it one time. Depending on schedule's we trailer to Laguna Seca from VA.. If Deals gap were out there, I'd do the same.
Just noticed a couple riders in here and thought i'd share a great vacation/weekend paradise for adrenalin junkies.

I made the mistake one time of taking a left instead of a right of the smokey mtn parkway and found myself driveing my minivan down the dragon's tail. I could not think to take that ride on a crouchrocket.

Best place for a crotchrocket. No driveways or intersecting roads. Just twisties. Still the threat of animals or fools, but you just have to keep aware.

Have friend at work that is a Gold Wing diehard. Am sending him the link so that he can look at it and make plans. Understand there is a road along the OK and Ark border that the cycles like to make some hard runs on, but don't know exactly where.

Not usually flooded with goldwings, but I do remember seeing two guys on rentals of that class that were scraping the saddleboxes off the sides of their bikes. You could hear them coming a mile away with the sound the boxes were putting out. Needless to say the boxes were just hanging from the mounts by the time they got off the mountain. I've never seen a cruiser take a ride like those did.
Might want to mention to your buddy that it's best to schedule when school is in session. There's alot of knuckleheads up there in the summer and it can get dangerous when they try to take you in the corner hotter than their limits will allow.
