Sorry About The Oil.

So I guess we let the pipes corrode a bit up at the Bay.
Looks like we will have a complete shutdown of activity for Oil.
This is gonna cost a bit real soon. So fill up all you got to fill up right now.

It's amazing this really happened not but a couple days after the big wigs visited.

Re: Sorry About The Oil.

I put in $60 today in anticipation. For every $10 a barrel, it goes up a buck. $4 a G can't be too far away and I've heard predictions of $5. I'm beginning to think about a small car for estimates, maybe an old 911. I always loved them and their quirks.

What engine? VW probably.

Those old VW engines were awesome with their little tweety muffler sound.

Re: Sorry About The Oil.

Bought a 1992 Honda Civic last september for the running around stuff. It was my first non America made car. Although I believe they actually are made in America just not owned by an American company

Anyways I get 38 mpg. It has a little 1.5 liter engine. Not much power, but I do smile when I fill-up. 9 gallon tank goes almost 350 miles.

Why is it that these days you have to pay boo-coo money for a new "hybrid" car to get the same milage as I get in a 14 year old non-hybrid car. I think those hybrids might be a racket.

In '91 I bought a Honda Civic Hatchbk. Same engine...1.5. Family out grew that vehicle. Man I miss her.

Re: Sorry About The Oil.

Every event seems to go and be cause for oil to go up. A cat farts in Wisconsin and somebody connects it to oil and tells how it is going to cause the price of oil to go up. What the hell does it take to make it go down?!!

Re: Sorry About The Oil.

My youngest bro and myself once tweaked out a 1.7L 914 after the 70's crisis. Weber carbs replaced the Jetronic fuel injection and we added a homemade H2O system. Driving cross country, we averaged 46 MPG and hit 52 on one leg in TX. I still have the maps and specs.

It can be done. I believe that big oil won't allow it.
