SoCal Is On Fire

Born and raised here, I have seen a bit. These fires in San Diago are the worst in history.

2 Dead (although one died in North Los Angeles) over 1/2 million mandatory evacuations, and that is just in SD. Over 1100 homes/business' are a total loss.
It really is that bad this time.....
If you're the praying type, say a prayer for them.

I canceled my soccer practice because the air is pretty bad, not as bad today that it was, but still just nasty. And it's hot. 85 outside near the shore line, 90's in the valleys.

I know we got a few guys on here from the area, If you can read this, chime in and let us know what's up..

Re: SoCal Is On Fire

Saw this on Fox news . com

I know this guy. He is the Owner of the main rubbish company for Ventura County, Harrison Rubbish.

CT22.jpg

I have worked on 2 of his homes and in several others of his brothers. This picture is kinda stupid because he is no where near any fires and they are just shopping. He is located (in this photo) between Los Angeles and the ocean at the most northern parts of L.A. county. The smoke in this pic is from Malibu, this is seriously what it looked like in the middle of the afternoon, and the fire is about a 30-40 minute drive from here. Normally the fires come from the northern mountains on down, which is what is happening right now, but Santa Clarita (aka. 6 flags Magic Mountain) is heading towards Ventura - Santa Barbara. Still a long ways away, but a few years ago I had to evacuate and when the flames are 50 feet from your first owned home....it is really scary.

I had some friends come and stay with me last night. They were evacuated from Carlsbad. They left this morning to visit friends in the bay area.

Yeah, it's the worst I've seen in 30 yrs. We're lucky in that we're at the beach, but it's still bad with the heat, overcast smoky sky and ashes fallin on ya. Eyes burnin and lungs achin... I gave my guys the half day off, we'll see about tomorrow??? Lots of people hanging out in our town to escape the horrors inland. Pretty weird scene all in all, feel bad for those losing everything.

Re: SoCal Is On Fire

Is there going to be a spike in work for the rebuild or will it be absorbed by the billion contractors down there?

Will Jose come norte and take all the jobs one more time? That happened in New Orleans, ya know.

I have a C-36, btw.
