so what do you single guys do at night?

After a few years of prereq's partime my wife did 2 years full time Nursing school and graduated this spring with a full RN Degree. Had a job before she even graduated.
2nd shift...
I don't know what the heck to do with myself at night.
I've been picking up my old hobby of alchoholism.....
BTW it was a change of careers midlife or so as we are both 42.

Monkey... this is a little of topic but how is it that you are a carpenter AND a painter? Isn't that like being a republican and a democrat or red sox and a yankees fan... How do you live within this paradox?lol All the painters I know think carpenters are nail bending idiots that they have to make look good and as a carpenter we always look at painters as whiny babies... no offense to any painters on this vaunted site... lol

I was joking with that.
problem is I like my wife.
reread my post and you will see that I am aware of my situation. I was joking about some parts and it was me myself who mentioned that some of you might find entertainment in my trauma.....

Question

1. If you had a boy, play xbox, ps3, toys, etc. with him or teach him the early trade;

2. If you have a girl, take her to dance lesson, music lesson, etc., or teach her something;

3. If you don't have children start to have one;

4. If you don't or can't have any children, then get/buy a pet (dog, cat, fish, bird, reptile, etc.) to messy with

5. If you don't want/like to have pets either, then get acquainted to a hobby that you like (music/guitar, hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, etc.)

6. If you don't want any hobbies, then like the guys said above, go back to school find something to read on every night or learn something new, etc.

7. If you still don't want to learn anything, then ...well, let's say.. umm.. just be a "couch potato" watching TV, drinking, smoking, indulging, etc.. till da cow come home..

8. However, .. if you can't not be that lazy and can't indulge in anything else above list at all.. then.. may we suggest da easiest way -->> come to CT talk and playing fast-reflex keyboard game with us contractors every damn night !!

Life is full of opportunity & hobbies to fulfill and discover.. gentlement!!

When I thought about writing this thread I was thinking someone might suggest this.
If I took a class it would not be work related.
I'm not that old but I'm not looking to set the world on fire anymore.
I've been a solo act for at least ten years.

When I joined this site I put in the things I get paid for in my name and business.
I have worked on just about every part of construction except foundations. .....For someone else...
I have worked on 2 dozen or so roof replacements but don't call myself a roofer.!!
I'm not very good at putting inflections into type .
When I first joined a guy that used to post alot "Wisepainter" said he had never seen a CAT/DOG before either.
I told him I can build my own casket and paint it too!

Do you mean I'm the guy that can't find a stud and the guy that fills the nail holes?
The guy that bangs up the drywall and fixes it?
The guy behind schedule and the guy ahead of schedule????

Thanks for your reply! I mean that!
My son (adopted- we had his so called "father" legally removed in probate court about 14 years ago) is 20 and out on his own.
He was here today for a few hours.
He seemed to want to talk...
I forgot that we used to like playing sega golf
you reminded me.

I used to play around on guitars for more than 20 yrs but with 2 surgeries and 1 that didn't work my picking hand(brush hand) does not work and I drop my pick(brush).
I was thinking of selling my guitars...maybe keep Marty(Martin D-15)

I'm guessing that as the newcomer, she's going to get the least favourite shifts for a while. Might be years of evening and night shifts. It can wear a marriage out never seeing each other, or only seeing each other when at least one is tired. Some of that free time might be well spent thinking about what to do to avoid that.

When I was single, I usually made a trip to the spank bank for a night deposit
