The Sandbox

In response to the recent spit ball fights that have been dominating CT
MY suggestion would be for Nathan to create a new room called
THE SANDBOX, any disputes can be taken there, instead of closing the threads that go down the wrong road, they can be put into THE SANDBOX
Additionally maybe members can learn when they are beginning to get heated to say, LETS TAKE IT TO THE SANDBOX. another benefit will be that people who enjoy this type of engagement can go to the SANDBOX and look for a good dispute to join....

Re: The Sandbox

I'd like to take it one step further and call it something like the:
Time Out Room or The Corner
Something like that to let the people know they are being sent there because they're acting like little children who haven't yet learned to act like adults.

Re: The Sandbox

Why would you want to encourage such behavior by rewarding them with their own little spot on ct?

If there were a place like that, I think the overall tone of ct would decline. People would know they could act like children here and get away w/ it.

Naw, I say shut 'em down and don't put up w/ professionals acting like idiots. This is a professional's forum, let's keep it on business.

If folks want to act like they're in high school or junior high, they can start a myspace account and go googly goggly over there, leaving the rest of us to share ideas here in peace.

Re: The Sandbox

I used to visit another message board, and when they had disputes between members, or a beligerent member, they had a forum something like that. What they would do though, is lock the member down/exile him so he could ONLY post in that forum. I think they called "Jail" or something similar. You could get locked in for a day, a week, 30 days...

It was pretty funny. And other "free" members could go in to talk to the prisoner, or taunt him, if they so desired, but the prisoner could not accesss other forums until his time was served.

It was pretty funny.

No position on such a forum but if there is one, I vote it be named The Biker Bar.

How about, "The Powder Room."

Powder for your face, not gunpowder.

I think you are being unfair here. There is a lot of good discussion that goes on in the PR section. Just because you may not understand it, or are afraid to participate in it, you should not make fun of it.

That does not look good for you.

As I have said before.......Opinions are entitlement!

Politics and Religion are very similar!

You know that we will NEVER agree concerning P&R, but that is what makes this World a better place to live.

Re: The Sandbox

Its true that there are SOME good threads in the P&R section... but quite a few turn into 4 year old pissing matches in a short period of time. If you are denying that then you are confused.

Dad used to say, "Everyone is entitled
to their own opinion, but not their own
facts."
Now-a-days with niche publications, and
radio and cable narrow casting, everyone
can get their own facts from only
sources with whom they already agree.
Political discussion is very nearly dead.
There remains merely rhetoric and argument.

When I hear Colorado Springs, I think of ONLY two things...........National Defense and Home Base for Christian Media Organizations.

No judgment, just information that forms the rungs of the Ladder of Opinion.
