Rubs and Scrapes
My buddies and I have been debating over peein' in a scrape or on a rub is a good idea or not...
Rifle season is comin' up and sometime's shakin' the dew becomes a priority...
I've heard positive results, but I'm not sure I want to experiment at my hunting location.

I think it would be a bad idea. With more human scent around it would have to make it harder to stay undetected.
What do you think the logic of your buddies is for doing this?

I've heard of this from my uncle who hunts the finger lakes region of NY.
They didn't piss in the scrapes though, they would do it around their stands throughout the year.
Theory is that it got the deer in the area used to the scent. Don't know if it works or not but he gets a couple of deer every year.

Just about every harebrained idea I've heard of worked for somebody, somewhere, once. Maybe.
Try it out and let us know how you did.

Now there is one idea that would work, that and get about a mile away from him.

a classic fun trick is to pour the scent out of a scent dripper and pee in it or take an axe or knife and cover your buddy's area in "rubs".
How about taking that monster mount down off the wall and hold it just high enough in front of your buddy's camera to get a good shot of the horns one day when he isn't there.
The trick is to never tell him what you done. This joke will last for years to come. Everytime we set around telling hunting stories, the monster buck and the bazillion rubs and scrapes comes up.
