Cruising craigslist for the first time and I see services(EROTIC)- click on and there are adds for escorts??? How can this be legal?

What is the "Legal" question??????? Escort Services are not Illegal. Sex for Hire, as such, is not Illegal when the sex provider does not offer it "up-front". All payments are gratuities.

Look in your local Yellow Pages. You will find Escort Services!

My dad lined up the strippers for my brothers bachelor party, we ended up with escorts. They wasted no time in letting us know that everything was available for a price, I didnt want none, but I am sure alot of the other guys there were having a bit of it. Dad found them in the yellow pages, my other brother is getting married soon, I will line up something a little better then my dad's nasty escorts.

Malco. Of course sex for hire is illegal, period. That is what prostitution is. Even when it is payment in the form of a "gratuity", it can still be deemed illegal and it can get you tossed in jail. The use of a gratuity as the form of payment is merely a ruse and is seen simply as an attempt to avoid the illegal interaction situation.

If you can walk away from the girl and not give her anything, then that is not prositution. If she yells and threatens to call her pimp if you do not give her the "gratuity" you discussed previously, then that is illegal prostitution. If the "gratuity" is a pre-determined amount, then that is prostitution. The amount of a tip cannot be mandated or forced. If it is, then it is not a tip but a contracted payment, i.e. prostitution.

You just do not understand. It is all in the wording. Have you never seen Cops or the like? They Prostitute MUST OFFER, for a PRICE, Sex. Any other way is COMPLETELY legal.

You are confusing Morally Illegal and Letter of the Law Illegal. Remember Congress can not Legislate Morality!

I do understand. Do you have any idea what is left out of cops? The last cop I knew that was on that show told me it took 3 crews a week to film enough for one show. He also told me there is a lot left out so do NOT make any real decisions based upon what you see there.

You are misunderstanding the view a court takes anytime there is money exchanged and there is sex. You can call it whatever you want but if it looks like payment for sex, feels like payment for sex, smells like payment for sex, you will be found guilty in the good ol' court of law. Has nothing do do with morality. The courts see this all the time and it does not hold up in court.

You need to be more specific. In Nevada, prostitution is illegal in any county with over 400,000 residents. That means it is illegal in the county the Las Vegas is in. Not sure mow many and which counties it is legal in.

so are you saying that no county in Nevada has over 400k residents other than Clark county?

It looks like Washoe County surpassed the 400k mark back in '06 so I would say that it is illegal in 2 counties now.

Prostitution is legal anywhere in NV with the exception of Clark County (where Las Vegas is located) and Washoe County (where Reno is located). Take it from someone who lived there for 5 years- even where it's "illegal" it's pretty easy to find......lol.

I have only heard and the people I have listened to are cops, attorneys, judges, you know, people that don;t know anything about the law.

but you just keep believing what you do. Your beleif is what propagates the old myth that a cop can't lie to you when you ask if he is a cop. That is what keeps getting people that just don't get it put in jail. Best place for them.
