Was once a REAL Scanner Geek. Bearcat 4-6 Ts and a Beearcat 400. Midland 863 CB with 40 Standard and "30 Up and 60 Down". 02A chip made that easy!

I've got a hot rodded scanner here...all the frequencies unlocked. But I live in freaking mayberry. Nothing but nothing happens here. The most interesting thing it picks up are cell phones.

Go to the Dekalb County Georgia site. Been in EVERY one of those Jails. On BOTH sides of the Desk! Sometimes being Mug-shotted and sometimes bringing in a Mug-shotee. No! Really!

They still using Analog cell phones in HI??? Or is it cordless phones that you hear?

Nope...No Police....Think of DOG.

Then I caught a Felonious Assault Charge in the line of "Duty". Still workin' on getting that rectified. No one has jurisdiction over me, just a "black mark" on me record.....Still.

The "alleged victim" never showed for Court, but I got the Railroad.......22 Years for a Conviction or 6 months "If you plea TODAY". Take 6 Months or wait, IN custody, for up to 5 years for the case to settle as a "Nol-Pros"???? I plead THAT DAY!

I remember the good ole days when we could pick up cell phone conversations. Somewhere in my attic I still have a couple old scanners that don't have the lock out restrictions......I'll have to see if they still work.

If they are transmitted then something should be able to intercept them and put the clicks and buzzes back into English. My wireless surround speakers use to pick up my neighbors wireless home phone. At first it was entertaining but it sort of ruined the movie that we were watching. After telling her a half dozen times to get a new phone I finally brought one of my speakers over to her home while she was talking to her boyfriend to prove to her that we could listen.

Our baby monitor use to pick up something but I figured if we could pick up other people I sure the heck did not want ours broadcasting our conversations to the whole world! My oldest daughters walkie talkie picks up all sorts of good stuff....I could go on....

Sheeet! My TV used to pick up the local Radio Station!!! Cable Box would listen to the Cordless. Aluminum Foil folded the right way is capable of "Tuning In"!

If you recall there was an Episode of "Gilligan's Island" where Gill got whacked in the jaw and he then picked up radio transmissions via the metal filling in his tooth!!!!

Electricity and Electromagnetic Waves are a Strange thing!

Well I used to have a Moonraker on me roof! (Beam/YAGI)

I even once built a makeshift HENtenna on me roof! Sorta like what one might see in a Naval Yard or Installation.

There still areas where you can only catch an analog signal on the cell. Deeeeep in the remote areas.

I've picked up cordless and cell.

Interesting sidenote-we were the guinea pigs for new tech when cell phones were rising in '92, /93...we were paying six cents a minute!! with Ameritech.
