Play the piano/keyboard in a band every second weekend. Classic Rock, although since I play 100% by ear, I play everything, and wish the guys would expand to play other things. But hey, the beer and pizza we order are great.

Boxing. I've been doing it since I'm 12 years old. Had a pretty good amateur record of 138 wins, and 1 loss. Got beat by Zab Judah in the Golden Gloves back when I was 18. He had the fastest hands I ever saw. Beat me up pretty good. Now I just work out to try and keep in shape.

Me too. My dad had a little studio set up at home. Ever since I moved out I haven't been able to do it. Getting a house in about 6 months, and already told the wife I get one big room to set up my "hobby room". Would like to start getting into detailed 3D glass prodjects.

My only other skills besides painting would be computer graphics, photography, and sleeping.

I'm amazing at over eating. I've been doing it since I was little and I keep getting better and better every year. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, it doesn't matter. Even if it doesn't taste very good I'll still eat too much and feel bloated for hours. And the gas ...don't get me started.

I am good at video games. I am a good mechanic. I build stages and things at my old high school when I can. And off roading. O and playing quarters.

I'm good at bar-b-q. We're not talking grilling burgers and dogs here. we're talking fall of the bone Ribs, melt in yer mouth Brisket, and Heavenly pork butt(pulled pork). I think its just in my jeens, My father was always an ametuer gormet cook. and I just woke up one day (when the wife didn't feel like cooking dinner) and threw a rub together (if you asked me to repeat it I coulden't. every rub is alittle differant) put it on a brisket and, in the immortal words of mister Johnny Cash, AWAY I WHENT. Haven't had a bad comment yet. Since then I've built my own smoker.

Re: Our Other Skills – Let’s Brag A Bit

I have always had the knack for learning things quick. I learned to build websites in a few days, then I learned PHP in a few weeks(a bit more complex), and SEO in a few months. I play the guitar, fingerstyle, acoustic. I was proficient at auto body and pretty damn good at painting, but the last time I did any body work was 15 years ago. Anytime my car breaks, I can fix it, no matter what tools I have, although having the right tools helps speed things along. I used to type 90 words per minute, now I'm down to about 40. I'm pretty handy with a charcoal grill too, but that's nothing special considering I'm from Missouri, where everybody is good at the grill. I'm very proficient at 2D drafting using TurboCad, pretty good at hand drafting. That's about it, not including some of the other construction skills that I have picked up over the years, but those don't really count.

Re: Our Other Skills – Let’s Brag A Bit

I can cook the best BBQ in Texas, got the trophies to prove it. Pretty fair fisherman, but I don't believe in keeping trophy fish, if I don't want to eat it then it goes free. When I was young I kicked arse in ping pong, beat the US Army champ like a redheaded step child when he came to Berlin & played in our local tourney. Bet I could smoke Forrest, Forrest Gump too. Foosball was my other game, they called me the King, cause no one could dethrone me off the table. It was fun going out to the bars & beating the Germans at "their" game. Unbeaten as a pitcher in slow pitch softball in the one year I played in city league. Drank lots of free beer playing pool for beer. Anything that has to do with hand eye coordination I do well. I can start & drive a 16 penny nail in one lick, won lots of beer on that one too. Not bad for a skinny white boy.

Well, are you gonna share some pointers there "trophy boy"? Like I said, I never entered any contest (I don't think there are many here in MA) but I never had anythin but good responses. But would love to get some pointers from Texas winner. I think Texas BBQ is the best. If I remember correctly, everyone else relies on sauce. No good in my opinion,.

Texas is OK but it's NOT Southern! It used to be part of Mexico, check your history.

Re: Our Other Skills – Let’s Brag A Bit

I've always thought I was pretty good at teaching myself what ever I needed to know. I was too impatient to learn things the conventional way (or too lazy). I'd just go to work and figure it out. I never went to college, again I was too lazy, but I hold a phD from the school of hard knocks. My skill that I'm most proud of is being able to look at something and knowing I can figure it out and fix it. "What one man has done, another can do."

I'm self taught in graphic design, video editing and film production and did all 3 professionally for a few years. I've built websites and interactive learning systems using Flash for major automotive companies. Self taught on bass guitar and played in a band semi-professionally (meaning we never made any money) for 8 years, recorded a couple albums and toured the US twice. I drove 2 businesses into bankruptcy and learned allot, mostly how NOT to do it, so now my third attempt will be a success. I've done just about everything and have had every kind of job, my wife gets tired of hearing me say, "I've done that."

And like most guys here, all my skills in woodworking and welding are self taught through trial and error.

Re: Our Other Skills – Let’s Brag A Bit

Well I don't really like to brag about this, but I feel it does make me unique. Most people wouldn't realize this about me if they met me on the street and many members of my family don't even know but I have a passion for hunting bear. Brown, black, grizzly, kodiak doesn't really make a difference.

There is no adrenaline rush quite like tracking a bear for days and then finally taking it down with a knife.

Weapon of choice!

Oh and I also play guitar.
