Oh the weather outside is frightful...

Quote:
"...But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of Pauseing,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!"

4 inches so far here today. Whiteout conditions on driving this morning. How is the weather where you are at today?Expecting 10-12 inches. Winter has finally arrived.

As of yesterday we finally got up to 5" on the ground at the southern part of town (Minneapolis/St.Paul) and less in the northern suburbs. True for our "storm" last night did nothing in the northern suburbs, 2" in the southern suburbs and 6" in the southern part of the state. - Temperature is 14F (in the AM), heading for 22F in the afternoon.

Tomorrow night and Sunday they predict 6" to 12", but it will probably come up from the south and then turn east to Wisconsin and Michigan before much gets to us.

Many people want and need more snow, but it just seems to turn away to the east. - Snowmobilers, skiers, bars, restaurants and resorts need the snow, not to mention all those that want to go to their lake homes for the week-ends. - At least we have enough to look pretty.

My worlds only got about one inch of snow, but that is covered with a half inch of ice. It is about thirty out so maybe the roads will clear. I think I'll start the weekend early and go out and play in the shop

It has now snowed 8 inches here. Still coming down. Boy, that 57 mile drive this morning didn't seem too bad.

We got the idea from a local lumber yard they wanted them built so people driving bye would see them. while we were building them in front of their stores we had some one come up to us and ask if we were building solar panels

here is picture of one

Must be nice to have a snow covered mountain for a back yard!
Even if I had one, the smog would keep it out of site.

We're about 2/3's the way of getting 10 inches here, which is fine... It's the white out conditions and blowing snow that's getting me. Accidents being reported everywhere on the local radio station, and my wife and kids r driving out in it... I'd take a photo, but u really can't see beyond 6 feet from the door. Because I worry, I think i'm gonna go warm up the truck, to prepare for a "just in case" scenerio, which i hope never happens.

This started about an hour ago.. I'm not gonna bother digging out the truck.. but I do have to go out and clear the driveway so my wife and park her car.

Looks like I'll be spending the rest of the day just making phone calls!

All the snow missed us last night and we ended up getting all the sleet and freezing rain. Everything is incrusted in ice at the moment. Roads aren't to bad thought atleast not the main ones.

Hey, AW, I first thought it was something for a solar panel. I have a couple in the backyard built like that to hold my solar water heater for the pool. That was why I asked.

Nice to see someone admit they're from Detroit. Most people would scream in your face that they are NOT from Detroit but from whatever suburb near there like Rochester Hills or Whit Lake or where ever.
