Re: New Southern Rock Band
I'll try not to be Simon Cowell-like. I do like southern hard rock. My opinion of what I heard from your myspace page is......I think you guys would benefit greatly from a better produced recording. The levels are off which makes it hard to listen to. I think vocals need to go down a notch and bring the rhythm guitars up more. I believe it's the guitars that give a song a "southern" feel more than anything else so they should be highlighted better. Your screaming style vocals work for hard rock but are too prominent in the 2 songs I listened to.
I'll vote for you guys cuz everyone deserves a chance. If you make it through, good luck and that way if things don't work out, at least you had the chance. Stick with it (and find a new producer!). Who knows, if you guys get in, maybe I'll come watch ya. Bushnell, IL is about 2 hours away! BTW, my favorite southern rock band is Grady: http://www.myspace.com/gradyaustin ok, so I just saw you said it's a raw recording....whew! Not so bad then! |

Its good...I didn't see a place to vote.
It may date me a bit, but Skrewdriver was a freakin' awesome band. |

Re: New Southern Rock Band
I clicked on your myspace page, but I think someone hacked it. Your music was substituted by some angry sounding boys hollering into the microphone.

Re: New Southern Rock Band
Sounds like a cross between Skynryd on the guitars and Powerman 5000 on the vocals, (Southern Rock mixed with Hard Rock lyrics).
I voted for ya but I do think that mdshunk is on to something. A little too much yelling for southern rock.

That band photo has a very "deliverance-y" vibe to it.If I was hiking through the woods and ran into that group of fellas, I would NOT be asking for directions.
